BACKGROUND The applicant, Richard Peterson, is requesting a conditional use permit to construct a 3, 190 square foot metal skin agricultural accessory structure and to have two agricultural buildings on one lot. Elk River City Code requires any agricultural accessory structure larger than 2,000 square feet in size to go through the conditional use permit process . Mr. Peterson is also required to go through the conditional use permit process because he has more than one agricultural structure on the parcel . Mr. Peterson owns 27 .45 acres of wooded property. This property acts as a buffer between the gravel pits to the north and a portion of the Brentwood subdivision to the south. Currently there is one 12 ' x28 ' ( 336 square foot) agricultural "lean-to" structure located on the property.
