ELK RIVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> M MORANDUM <br /> • <br /> TO: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> FROM: WILLIAM RUBIN, ECONOMIC <br /> DEVELOPMENT COORDINATO I� - <br /> DATE: FEBRUARY 8, 1994 �'' <br /> SUBJECT: PROSPECT STATUS REPORT <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The following is a summary of new industrial and commercial prospects that have <br /> expressed an interest in locating in the City of Elk River since the last EDA meeting. <br /> NEW PROSPECTS <br /> 1. Smith Office Redevelopment <br /> A recent meeting was held with Mr. Jeny and Tim Smith regarding an office <br /> redevelopment project proposed at east Main Street and Freeport Avenue. This <br /> project would result in the relocation of Century 21 White Dove into the new <br /> office. This project requires the demolition or removal of an existing home, site <br /> preparation, and on site utility extensions. An inquiry was made as to the <br /> availability of City-HRA assistance with this project. <br /> 2. Foremost <br /> This is a New Hope-based sheet metal fabricator with approximately 25 <br /> employees. The company seeks an expansion site for the construction of a new <br /> 30,000 square foot facility. An employee, who is also a resident of Elk River, <br /> suggested that the principals contact the City regarding available sites and <br /> financing programs. This information was made available and a followup meeting <br /> was scheduled. <br /> 3. Attorney Inquiry <br /> An attorney with the law firm of Doherty, Rumble and Butler called on behalf of a <br /> client who seeks information from greater metro area communities regarding <br /> vacant sites and expansion programs. <br /> 1111 <br /> 4.
