MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER <br /> • HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> MONDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1998 <br /> Members Present: Chair Kropuenske, Commissioners Hinkle and Wilson <br /> Members Absent: Commissioners Toth and Farber <br /> Staff Present: Paul Steinman, Executive Director;Sandra Peine, City Clerk; Peter <br /> Beck, City Attorney <br /> 1. Call Meeting To Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Housing and <br /> Redevelopment Authority was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chair Kropuenske. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER HINKLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/21/98 HRA AGENDA. <br /> COMMISSIONER WILSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 3. Consider Consent Agenda <br /> • COMMISSIONER HINKLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 3.1. CHECK REGISTER-APPROVED <br /> 3.2. 10/26/98 HRA MINUTES-APPROVED <br /> COMMISSIONER WILSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> 4. Discuss King and Main Project <br /> Executive Director Paul Steinman informed the HRA that the HRA's letter of intent <br /> with Midwest Building Components regarding the development of the King and <br /> Main site will end on December 31, 1998. In July the HRA signed a letter of intent <br /> allowing Midwest Building Components to be the only developer working with the <br /> HRA on the King and Main site. Paul Steinman explained that Midwest Building <br /> Components has accomplished a variety of activities on the site, however they <br /> have not been successful in getting tenants to occupy the proposed building. <br /> Paul Steinman recommended that the HRA consider marketing the site starting in <br /> January 1999. <br /> COMMISSIONER HINKLE MOVED THAT THE HRA PROCEED WITH MARKETING THE KING <br /> AND MAIN SITE AFTER JANUARY 1, 1999. COMMISSIONER WILSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. <br /> COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION BY ADDING THE <br /> FOLLOWING SENTENCE: "THAT PAUL STEINMAN CONTACT TERRY VEECH OF MIDWEST <br /> BUILDING COMPONENTS PRIOR TO JANUARY 1 TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT <br />
