HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL <br /> MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 1996 <br /> Members Present: Vice Chair Kropuenske, Commissioners Hinkle, Farber, and Wilson <br /> (5:32 p.m.) <br /> Members Absent: Chair Schuldt <br /> Staff Present: Paul Steinman, Executive Director; Pat Klaers, City Administrator; <br /> Lori Johnson, Assistant City Administrator; Michelle Dwyer, <br /> Recording Secretary <br /> 1. Call Meeting To Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the Elk River <br /> Housing and Redevelopment Authority was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Vice <br /> Chair Kropuenske. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER HINKLE MOVED TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 12, 1996 HRA AGENDA. <br /> COMMISSIONER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> • 3. Consider Consent Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> 3.1 JUNE 17, 1996 HRA MINUTES - APPROVED <br /> 3.2 JUNE 20, 1996 HRA MINUTES - APPROVED <br /> 3.3 CHECK REGISTER - APPROVED <br /> COMMISSIONER HINKLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> Commissioner Wilson arrived at this time (5:32 p.m.) <br /> 4. Open Mike <br /> No one appeared for this item. <br /> 5. Discussion: Sidewalk Replacement Program Budget <br /> Paul Steinman, Director of Economic Development, discussed with the <br /> Commission, the replacement of the decorative sidewalk in downtown Elk River <br /> and the recommendation to include $15,000 in the 1996 budget to replace the <br /> downtown sidewalks. Commissioner Farber is concerned over the downtown <br /> and primarily the issue that the sidewalk could become a liability. <br /> • It was the consensus that staff will follow up with Phil Hals, Street/Park <br /> Department and also with Terry Maurer, City Engineer, to discuss issues <br /> regarding replacing the sidewalk. <br />
