ELK RIVER CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAIL SYSTEM PROPOSAL <br /> Thank you for the hard work you have done to develop the <br /> City Ski Trail System and your attempt to acquire the Old <br /> Railroad Tracks! ! <br /> Thie year the Elk River High School Ski Team and other <br /> vol(inteers would like to help the city improve the Ski Trail <br /> Systen. The improvements would benefit both the general <br /> publi-c and the Elk River Ski Team. <br /> In order to make improvements we would like the city of Elk <br /> River to approve the following goals. <br /> GOALS: <br /> NOTE:-,The Elk River Ski Team and Volunteers would be <br /> responsible for meeting these goals. <br /> Expand the trail system on private land owned by the <br /> Golfurse, William Brady and Ridgewood Homeowners. This <br /> would ,. ome in the form of 1 .2 miles of Moderate Trails and <br /> .3 miles of Difficult Trails. <br /> • NOTE: Private landowners allowing a PUBLIC TRAIL to <br /> cross their land are not liable for accidents, related to <br /> the public trail , occuring on their land. This law is <br /> specifically explained in Minnesota State Statute 87.01 <br /> through 87.03. (See Attached Form) <br /> 2. Clearly mark all trails by difficulty and provide <br /> trail maps at the Golf Course Entrance. <br /> le <br /> 3. Assist the City of Elk River in grooming and trail <br /> maintenance. <br /> ** OPTIONAL ** <br /> SUGGESTED CITY GOAL: <br /> '' 1 . Purchase a grooming device designed for Freestyle <br /> Skiing (Skating) . (This may be a long term goal of the <br /> city . ) ' <br /> COST TO THE CITY OF ELK RIVER: <br /> 1 . Cost Increase: A.
