ELK RIVER ARENA
1000 SCHOOL STREET N.W.
P.O. Box 720
ELK RIVER, MN 55330
(763) 441 — 2956
Fax (763) 241 — 9432
To: Arena Customers
From: Rich Czech, Elk River Arena Manager
Date: March 18, 2003
Subject: 2003 — 2004 ice hours
About six weeks ago I asked each customer to provide me with their needs for ice time
for next season. Only a couple of customers responded, which leaves me without
information from other customers that would have provided me with valuable
information. Due to this fact, I will be adjusting hours according to what I have heard
through correspondents throughout the season. The following is the total ice hours
requested for next season from the major users. The hours cover ice rented from
September 20th—through Mid March.
Elk River Youth Hockey: 1,200
Independent School District 728: 575
Elk River Skating Academy: 262
Becker/Big Lake High School: 100
Elk River Skating Club: 92
Rogers Youth Hockey Association: 425
Total: 2,604
Last season during the same time frame, these same customers (minus Rogers Youth
Hockey) accounted for 2,385 hours of ice rented at the Arena. Face value, it looks like
the Arena would be short 219 hours short of what is needed to accommodate all the
Arena customers' needs. However, there are hours available Sunday mornings and a few
hours available during other times that may reduce the shortfall by about 40 hours.
This is a rough idea of how the ice will be distributed next season. If all goes well, I
would expect to have the majority of the ice booked by the middle of May. If there are
any questions, please give me a call.
Elk River Youth Hockey Association, the Arena's primary customer, will rent the 1,200
hours requested. If they wish to expand their hours, the request for additional hours must
