Individual tasks to achieve this goal include the preparation of plans and schematics <br />to improve intersections and parkway medians (C1 and CS tasks). In addition to that, staff was to review <br />and provide recommendations to incentivize improvements, beautification projects (C2). <br />Landscaping requirements for commercial/industrial areas were also reviewed because these areas are the <br />most visible within the city and create perceptions by the public about the feel of Elk River. <br />Not wanting to be way ahead of the pack in terms of landscaping requirements, but also wanting to <br />continue to enhance the improvement of properties with landscaping, staff reviewed comparable cities to <br />understand the market requirements.
