MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION • HELD AT ELK RIVER CITY HALL TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 201 I Members Present: Vice Chair Anderson, Bell, Johnson, Lemke and Scott Members Absent: Chair Ives Staff Present: Jeremy Barnhart, Planning Manager; Debbie Huebner, Recording Secretary Call Meeting To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice Chair Anderson. 2. Consider 4/12/11 Planning Commission Agenda MOVED BY COMMISSIONER LEMKE AND SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER WESTBERG TO APPROVE THE APRIL 12, 2011 PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 3. Consider 3/8/11 Planning Commission Minutes ® MOVED BY COMMISSIONER JOHNSON AND SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER LEMKE TO APPROVE THE MARCH 8, 2011 MINUTES. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 4. Planning Commission Representative to Attend April 18.2011 City Council Meeting Commissioner Johnson will attend the April 18, 2011 City Council meeting. 5.1. Request by Craig Wille~(Wright Titlel for Conditional Use Permit for Residential Use in G2 Office District (429 Main Street). Case No. CU 11-05 Mr. Barnhart stated that this item has been withdrawn by the applicant. Vice-Chair Anderson opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or against this application. Vice-Chair Anderson closed the public hearing. 5.2. Request by Briggs Properties for Conditional Use Permit for Hotel (Elk River Lodgg . 1~, 7432 Yale Street. Case No. CU 11-07 The staff report fox this item was presented by Jeremy Barnhart, Planning Manager. Mr. Barnhart explained that the applicant will remain a 42-unit hotel, and that a Conditional Use Permit is required because the hotel was closed for more than six months. He reviewed the conditions of approval recommended by staff in the report to the Planning Commission dated Apri112, 2011. •
