Item # 6. <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Parks and Recreation Commission <br />FROM: Michele Bergh, Recreation Manager <br />DATE: December I, 2005 <br />SUBJECT: Staff Report <br />Hot Topic(s) of the Month <br />We are looking at applying for a grant for improving Hillside Park. This information will be <br />brought to the Commission for review in January. <br />We are already beginning summer 2006 planning. Some of our programs are listed in our <br />spring guide and need to be set up before the end of the year. <br />We have also begun working on the ice show at the Arena. Next year's theme is the movie, <br />Grease. We will be working to really improve the production and look forward to another <br />successful show. <br />We have also started working with a newly formed committee for Safe Schools. The focus is <br />not just schools but the community as well. The meeting in January will focus on the skate <br />park facility. <br />November Programs <br />During the month of November, we offered Yoga, Kickboxing Circuit, Yogilates, 50/50, <br />open gyms, Girl Power, Santa's Workshop, Parent and Tot Tumbling, Preschool Tumbling, <br />Parent and Tot Open Playtime, Kids Cardio, Eager Elks Tumbling, Eager Elks Indoor <br />Winter Soccer League, Women's Volleyball, Co Rec Volleyball, The Shopped at Lions Park, <br />and Skating Academy. <br />Facility Use <br />During the month of November approximately 100 hours were reserved for city facilities. 3 <br />hours were reserved at the Barn, 25 hours at the Emporium, and approximately 60 hours <br />were reserved at Lions Park Center. <br />
