Call Meeting- To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Board of Appeal and <br />Equalization was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Klinzing. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Board of Appeal and Equalization <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Jerry Kritzeck, Sherburne County Assessor indicated that the purpose of the Board of <br />Appeal and Equalization is to consider and review 2007 estimated market values and <br />property classifications. <br /> <br />Information was presented on the assessment procedures and statistics for the City of Elk <br />River 2007 assessments. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed concerns from individual property owners. <br /> <br />1. Steve Rohlf, representing Scott Powell, Parcel Identification Number 75-011- <br />2325 and 75-011-2330 <br /> <br />J\fr. Rohlf stated these two parcels increased in value by approximately 270% in one year. He <br />stated the parcels are metes and bounds and at this time he can't get a building permit on <br />them. He stated that in order to cover the increased cost of the taxes he would need to plat <br />this propetty now but he would like to wait for the city's concept plan for Gateway Business <br />Park. <br /> <br />Appraiser Cullen stated sales for similar properties that are platted, have sewer and water, <br />and are on comer lots came in with double sales figures than what he expected. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing stated it is difficult to compare these two parcels with platted parcels. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber concurred and stated the 2700/0 increase was too dramatic of a <br />change in one year. <br /> <br />. <br />
