Councilmember <br />Engstrom arrived at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Acting Mayor Schuldt. <br /> <br />2. Agenda <br /> <br />Item 14~ - Acting Building Inspector salary was added to the September 17, <br />1984 City Coucnil agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 17, 1984, CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 3-0. <br /> <br />3. Minutes <br /> <br />The September 6, 1984 City Council meeting minutes were not available for <br />approval. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Mortensen of A & K Railroad Service, appeared before the City Coun- <br />cil regarding the possibility of selling the railroad ties that he is sahraging <br />from the dismanteling of the railroad line between Elk River and Zimmerman. <br />Mr. Mortensen indicated that he has had numerous request for the purchase of <br />the railroad ties. <br /> <br />Mr. Rick Breezee, Building <br />of the railroad ties would <br />questioned the possibility <br />sale of the railroad ties. <br />limit the hours of sale. <br /> <br />and Zoning Administrator, indicated that the sale <br />be a temporary situation. Ms. <br />Driessen indicated that the City of Big Lake pays their election judges $5.00 <br />per hour. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Clerk investigate the <br />salaries paid to election judges in other adjoining communities and make a <br />recommendation to the City Council. <br />
