Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice Mayor Schuldt. <br /> <br />2. Consider 10/16/89 City Council Agenda <br /> <br />Items 5.9 RCM Fire and 5.10 True Value Update were added to the agenda. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE 10/16/89 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRn:!) <br />4-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider 10/9/89 City Council Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 10/9/89 CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />3-0-1. Vice Mayor Schuldt abstained due to the fact that he was not <br />present for the 10/9/89 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Schuldt introduced the Boy Scouts from Troop 90 who were <br />visiting the Council meeting. <br /> <br />3 .5 Open Mike <br /> <br />Mrs. Clifford Martineau, of 1429 5th Street, stated that her husband has <br />been before the Council on several occasions requesting action on closing <br />Seymour Avenue between 5th Street and Highway 10. She indicated that <br />they have not received a response from the City regarding this matter. <br /> <br />Pat K1aers, City Administrator, indicated that the Street Superintendent <br />had attempted to visit area residents regarding the residents preference <br />for removing the street or leaving the street in place. Mr. K1aers <br />indicated that. of the people the Street Superintendent was able to <br />contact, approximately 50% were in favor of removing the street and 50% <br />preferred to leave the street as it is. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Martineau also questioned if the dirt road could be <br />improved. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor <br />check into <br />a road. <br />contact Mr. <br /> <br />Schuldt stated that the Street Superintendent was going to <br />the actual ownership of the road and whether, in fact, it was <br />Mr. K1aers indicated that the Street Superintendent would <br />and Mrs. Martineau regarding this matter. <br />
