MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY C9UNCIL HELD AT THE ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1992 Members Present: Mayor Tralle, Councilmembers Holmgren, Schuldt and Dietz Members Absent: Councilmembers Kropuenske Staff Present: Pat Klaers, City Administrator; Sandy Thackeray, City Clerk; Lori Johnson, Finance Director; Russ Anderson, Fire Chief 1. Call Meeting To Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City Council was called to order at 8:20 p.m. by Mayor Tralle. 2. Consider 12/14/92 City Council Agenda Item 4.2., was moved to Item 2.1. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE 12/14/92 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 2.1. Consider Purchase of Fire Department Pagers Russ Anderson, Fire Chief, indicated that as requested by the City Council, he has researched other cities in regard to pagers. He stated that it is the policy of most fire departments to purchase their pagers rather than to lease them. Councilmember Dietz suggested that Chief Anderson plan for the need to purchase pagers in the future by putting money away in a reserve fund for this purpose. The City Administrator and the likely source Contingency fund. stated that this purchase is not in the budget of funding would be the 1993 City Council COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF TEN PAGERS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 3. Public Hearing/Consideration of 1993 General Fund Budget and 1993 Final Tax Levy Pat Klaers, City Administrator, indicated that a public hearing on the City's tax levy and General Fund budget is required by the Truth in Taxation Law.
