with local businesses, donations, employment, etc. would be sustained for an additional 4 <br />to 7 years. <br />2.6 SITE SCREENING <br />The region surrounding the proposed expansion consists of rolling terrain, heavily <br />wooded areas, existing berths, and on-going mining operations that effectively screen it <br />from view without additional screening features. <br />Along the east side of the proposed expansion, existing trees and an existing earthen <br />berm that has been planted with trees, ~~~ill provide year round screening along Hwy 169. <br />Mining activities to the south of the proposed expansion will be on-going during the life <br />of the proposed expansion. In addition to the on-going mining on the property to the <br />south of the proposed expansion and existing screening along 2215` Avenue for the <br />mining operations, the ERL will establish screening vegetation on the south perimeter <br />berm that will effectively screen the proposed expansion from 22151 Avenue. Along the <br />west side of the proposed expansion between the property line and the corridor trail there <br />will be a 200-foot buffer. This setback allows for the preservation of the existing trees in <br />the area. The dense vegetation along the bike trail corridor effectively screens the <br />proposed expansion from view of the trail users. This vegetation will remain with the <br />expansion since it is within the proposed 200-foot setback. <br />2.7 PROPOSED LANDFILL DESIGN <br />The ERL is designed to dispose ofnon-hazardous solid wastes.
