Board of Appeal and Equalization Minutes Page 3 <br />Apri128, 2010 <br />6. Elk River Christian and Mission Alliance Church, Parcel Identification <br />Number 75-134-2200 <br />Joel Nelson, on behalf of the church, requested that the above referenced parcel be exempt <br />from taxes as the church is anon-profit organization. <br />Mr. Cullen explained that the tax exempt status is not based on the non-profit status of the <br />organization but rather on the use. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER WESTGAARD AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO MAKE NO CHANGE TO PARCEL 75-134- <br />2200. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />Elk River Aerie #3264, Parcel Identification Numbers 75-405-0940, 75-405- <br />0910,and 75-405-0920 <br />Discussion took place on the Eagles Club classification of a club versus commercial. It was <br />noted the Eagles hold a club liquor license. Discussion also took place on combining parcels <br />75-405-0920 and 75-405-0940. Elk River Aerie #3264 can initiate this with the County <br />Assessor. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER WESTGAARD AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY FOR THE COUNTY ASSESSOR TO <br />REVIEW PARCEL 75-705-0940 AND REPORT BACK AT THE RECONVENE <br />MEETING. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER ZERWAS AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER WESTGAARD FOR THE COUNTY ASSESSOR TO <br />REVIEW PARCEL 75-405-0910 AND REPORT BACK AT THE RECONVENE <br />MEETING. Robert Hoffman, Parcel Identification Number 75-101-2200 <br />Mr. Hoffman requested his entire parce175-101-2200 be reduced by $220,000. <br />Ms. Quinn reviewed the building value and the value of the land the house site is on. Ms. <br />Henderson explained that the green acre value went up because she removed a system <br />override that was in place keeping the tillable value at $3,000 per acre. She indicated the <br />increase is consistent with other sod farms and lower than neighboring counties. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO ADJUST THE VALUE OF PARCEL 75- <br />101-2200 BY A TOTAL OF $110,000 REDUCING THE BUILDING VALUE BY <br />$24,100, THE BUILDING SITE BY $20,000, THE OUTBUILDING LOT BY <br />$5,000, AND FOR 87 ACRES OF SOD LAND TO BE VALUED AT $4,000 AN <br />ACRE, REDUCING THE VALUE BY $60,900. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br />
