Request to Rehire Steve Sarazin <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO REHIRE STEVE SARAZIN AS A <br />POLICE OFFICER WITH THE SAME RATE OF PAY THAT HE WAS <br />RECEIVING ON THE DATE OF HIS TERMINATION. COUNCILMEMBER <br />DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.1. Proclamation - Dan Hinote Day <br /> <br />Mayor Stephanie Irdinzing proclaimed August 10, 2001 as Dan Hinote Day. She stated that <br />Dan Hinote would be bringing the Stanley Cup to the Elk River Arena for public display on <br />August 10. <br /> <br />4.2. Ice Arena Bleacher Bids <br /> <br />Arena Manager Rich Czech indicated that bids were opened for the arena bleachers. He <br />noted that only one bid was received from E.R. Anderson in the amount of $58,716. Rich <br />noted that the electric wiring/heating system will cost $18, 700 and the P.A. system will cost <br />$5,841.80 bringing the total project cost to $83,700. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO ACCEPT THE BID FROM E.R. <br />ANDERSON FOR THE BLEACHERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,716.00. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE FUNDING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $18,700 FOR THE ELECTRIC WIRING AND HEATING <br />SYSTEM, AND $5,841.80 FOR THE P.A. SYSTEM. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.3. Consider Developer's Request to Pave 221,t Avenue <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer stated that Marly Glines of Dynamics Design and Land <br />Company, developer of Ridges of Rice Lake, is requesting that the City pave 221st Avenue <br />from CSAH 1 to just east of their development entrance off of 221't Avenue (approximately <br />3,400 feet). The developers are proposing to pay one hundred percent of the cost. Terry <br />noted that if the paving takes place, there would be a stretch of roadway of about the same <br />length, between Highway 169 and CSAH 1 that will remain gravel. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing indicated that about a year ago she discussed the possibility of exchanging <br />221st for County Road 40 with the County Engineer. Marly Glines noted that he recently <br />spoke with the County Engineer about this issue and the Engineer indicated that he would <br />speak to the Mayor again regarding a possible exchange. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO PAVE THE AREA REQUESTED BY <br />THE DEVELOPER AS DESIGNATED IN THE DEVELOPER'S AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE DEVELOPER PAYING FOR THE PAVEMENT AND THAT THE <br />CITY NEGOTIATE WITH SHERBURNE COUNTY TO EXCHANGE <br />COUNTRY ROAD 40 FOR 221s'r AND IF THE EXCHANGE DOES NOT <br /> <br /> <br />
