8. Proposed Workforce Housing Development-Presentation <br /> <br />Director of Planning Michele McPherson stated that the presenter has requested that this <br />item be tabled for one month. <br />Housing Work Plan-Session I <br /> <br />Economic Development Assistant Heidi Hall introduced David Schluchter and Kathy <br />Aanemd with the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA). <br /> <br />Mr. Schluchter and Ms. Aanerud gave a presentation explaining the MHFA. They discussed <br />the many housing programs and partnership opportunities available to the city for multi- <br />family and single-family housing. <br /> <br />The Mt-IFA staff commended the HRA for doing research on local housing needs and <br />possible solutions prior to developing priorities and a vision for Elk River's housing <br />programs. Mr. Schluchter stressed that the city first identify the needs, develop a workable <br />plan, and that the city work with various partners including Central MN Housing <br />Partnership and developers prior to submitting any application for assistance. Ms. Aanerud <br />stated that MHFA's programs can be assessed by the homeowner/buyer directly or funded <br />through partners such as Sherbume County, Tri-Cap, the Central MN Housing Partnership, <br />and participating lenders. <br /> <br />After the presentation the HRA had a question and answer session with the presenters. <br /> <br />10. Other Business <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING FOR <br />TUESDAY, MAY 27, 2003, TO CONSIDER REGULAR BUSINESS. <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />11.
