Chair Toth and Commissioner <br />Motin expressed concern over creating this District. <br /> <br />Ms. McPherson stated that creating the Urban Reserve District is a policy issue that needs to <br />be determined by the City Council. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OF <br />THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ON THURSDAY, <br />JUNE 5, 2003, AT 5:00 P.M., FOR THE PURPOSE OF REVIEWING THE <br />DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. COMMISSIONER WILSON SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED $-0 <br /> <br />6. Sherburne County Habitat for Humanity Update-Commissioner Lieser <br /> <br />Commissioner Lieser stated that she has resigned from the local Habitat for Humanity <br />Chapter. She stated that the Chapter has become established and is able to function <br />independently. Commissioner Leiser stated that the Chapter is seeking volunteers to help <br />complete work on current construction projects. <br /> <br />7. Downtown Revitalization Project Update <br /> <br />Director of Economic Development Catherine Mehelich provided an update on the status <br />of the Downtown Revitalization Project. She reviewed the following items: <br /> <br />· A public Open House is in the planning stages for June. <br />· The next edition of the Downtow, o(~O'~zl newsletter will be distributed to the public <br /> in May. <br />· MetroPlains is preparing a presentation for the City Council and the HRA. <br />· MetroPlains is meeting with downtown property owners. <br />· Staff is monitoring the Wild and Scenic District proposed amendments. The need <br /> for a setback variance continues to be a concern for everyone involved in the <br /> project. <br />· Staff is evaluating the preliminary findings of the TIF Assessment. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO ADD THE METROPLAINS <br />PRESENTATION TO THE JUNE 5, 2003, SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HRA <br />AND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL BE INVITED TO ATTEND. <br />COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br /> <br />
