CONDUCT <br />ET ICS ' PIJ LIC EIPLYENT <br />The City of Elk River finds that it is in the public interest and general welfare of <br />the City and its citizens that a statement of ethics be established for all employees <br />of the City. <br />Employees shall not use their official position for personal gain, engage in any <br />business ar transaction or have a financial interest, direct or indirect, which is in <br />conflict with the prope~• performance of their official duties, <br />ACCEPTING ~I~'T~ <br />Employees shall not accept, either directly or indirectly, any money, property, <br />gift, gratuity, reward, loan, fee, discount, or special consideration or special <br />accommodation arising from or offered because of their employment or any <br />activity connected with their employment with the City. <br />El'PL~YEE ENI~[~R~EIEI~TS <br />No employee shall, in any manner ar form, endorse, recommend, ar advertise a <br />product or service by using the City's name or the employee's name andlor title, <br />C®I~ELICT ~E INTE~.EST <br />The credibility of local government rests heavily upon the confidence that citizens <br />have in public officials and employees to render fair and impartial services to all <br />citizens without regard to personal interest andlor political influence. Thus, City <br />of~"~cials and employees must scrupulously avoid any activities that suggest a <br />conflict of interest between their private interests and City responsibilities. The <br />City has adopted a Conflict of Interest ordinance that addresses these issues. <br />Employees and officials are required to follow all applicable laws related to <br />conflicts of interest, including the City's Conflict of Interest ordinance that is <br />attached as Exhibit E, <br />HA.ASSI~ENT <br />The City of Elk River strives to maintain a work environment free of offensive <br />conduct or harassment of any type, <br />
