Open Mike <br /> <br />5.1. <br /> <br />5.la. <br /> <br />5.2. <br /> <br />5.3. <br /> <br />5.4. <br /> <br />5.5. <br /> <br />Tony Darkenwald and Harvey Schraeder gave an update on the 2001 Art's Soup Festival. <br />They thanked the city for its support and presented the Council with an Art's Soup framed <br />poster. <br /> <br />Swear in Police Officer <br /> <br />Joseph Gacke was sworn in by Mayor Klinzing as a Police Officer. <br /> <br />Old City Dump Testing <br /> <br />Building and Zoning Administrator Steve Rohlf updated the Council on the environmental <br />testing of the wells at the Old City Dump and adjacent residential wells. He noted that the <br />results indicate that the City take no action at this time. Steve requested authorization to <br />continue testing next year. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CONTINUED <br />TESTING OF THE OLD CITY DUMP SITE. COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Appoint Jean Leiser to the HRA <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO APPOINT JEAN LIESER TO THE <br />HRA - TERM EXPIRING ON 12/31/2002. COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider City Insurance Renewal with League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson indicated that the contract with the League of Minnesota <br />Cities Insurance Trust for property, liability, auto, bond and related insurance coverage has <br />lapsed. She noted that Mary Eberley of First National Insurance Agency was prepared to <br />review the proposed policy renewal. Mary Eberley indicated that there were no other <br />insurance quotes other than the League because there are currently no other companies <br />writing municipal coverage. Mary Eberley reviewed the policy renewal. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO APPROVE THE INSURANCE <br />RENEWAL WITH THE LMCIT FOR COVERAGE THROUGH JULY 1, 2002. <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Code Compliance Update <br /> <br />Building/Housing Inspector Terry Tousignant reviewed the status of complaints noting that <br />a majority of the complaints have been resolved. <br /> <br />City Flag <br /> <br />The City Clerk noted that she has been working with Glenn Quist to redesign the city flag to <br />coincide with the new city logo. The Clerk presented two flag options to the Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
