Planning Commission Minutes Page 2 <br />December 8, 2009 <br />--------------------------- <br />There being no public comment, Chair Scott closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LEMKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />ANDERSON TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE REQUEST BY RIVER <br />OF LIFE CHURCH TO EXTEND THE EXISTING INTERIM USE PERMIT <br />FOR TEMPORARY CLASSROOMS AND OFFICE, CASE NO. CU 09-22, WITH <br />THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: <br />1. ALL THREE PORTABLE OFFICE/CLASSROOMS SHALL BE REMOVED <br />BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2013. <br />2. IF AN EXTENSION TO THE SEPTEMBER 1, 2013 DATE IS REQUIRED, <br />THE APPLICANT SHALL APPLY FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />INTERIM USE PERMIT. <br />3. THE TOTAL SQUARE FOOTAGE OF ALL THREE PORTABLE OFFICES <br />SHALL NOT EXCEED 2,750 SQUARE FEET. <br />4. IF THE LOCATION OF ANY OF THE PORTABLE <br />OFFICE/CLASSROOMS IS CHANGED, THE APPLICANT SHALL APPLY <br />FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE INTERIM USE PERMIT. <br />5. ALL THREE PORTABLE OFFICE/CLASSROOMS SHALL MEET ALL <br />BUILDING AND FIRE CODES. <br />MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />5.2. <br />CU 090-24 <br />Ms. Haug provided the historyfor this request. She stated that the applicant has met the <br />conditions of the original CUP, and has painted the subject building to match the gas plant <br />(updated photo was distributed). She noted that there are no plans to construct a hazardous <br />household waste (I~i~ facility. The subject building serves the general public as a drop- <br />off center for recyclables, white goods, electronics, demolition debris, and wood products. <br />It also offers araiseddrop-off area for residents where Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) can be <br />directly deposition in roll off containers for subsequent hauling by the Elk River Landfill to <br />the active face. Staff recommends approval of the request. <br />Commissioner Westberg asked how the number of years for the extension was determined. <br />Ms. Haug stated that ten years was requested bythe applicant. <br />MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LEMKE, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />IVES TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE REQUEST BY WASTE <br />MANAGEMENT TO AMEND CONDITION #4 OF THEIR EXISTING <br />INTERIM USE PERMIT AS FOLLOWS: <br />4. THE EXISTING STORAGE BUILDING SHALL BE REMOVED BY <br />DECEMBER 31, 2019. <br />MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
