Draft Status Report on the Northstar Commuter Rail Project. June 7, 2001 <br /> <br />January 25, 2001. The Metropolitan Council held a public hearing <br />on January 25, 2001, and approved the Advanced Corridor Plan on <br />February 14, 2001. Saint Cloud APO and Metropolitan Council <br />responses can be found in Appendix E.3. <br /> <br />G. Continued Development <br />Together with the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, the <br />Advanced Corridor Plan became part of the foundation for the next <br />phase of project development, the Preliminary Engineering Plan. <br />According to Minn. Statutes §174.80 subd. 3, Preliminary <br />Engineering Plan means a commuter rail plan that includes all the <br />items in the Advanced Corridor Plan that relate to the facilities <br />proposed for construction, but with additional detail and specificity <br />as needed for construction and operation. <br /> <br />NCDA received approval to enter into preliminary engineering on <br />June 22, 2000. See Section VII for a description of preliminary <br />engineering activities. Mn/DOT has agreed that the preliminary <br />engineering plans for stations will be submitted to the cities for <br />review and comment for consistency with the resolutions and other <br />city concerns. <br /> <br />Northstar Corridor Development Authority 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
