June 7, 2001 <br /> <br />Alternative. <br /> <br />City of Fridley <br />In its resolution, the City of Fridley requested that Mn/DOT further <br />study various issues. Some issues have been reviewed with the <br />City and modifications have been made. Mn/DOT is in the process <br />of resolving the remaining issues with the City. <br /> <br />City of Minneapolis <br />In a resolution dated October 13, 2000, the City of Minneapolis <br />requested that Mn/DOT and the NCDA evaluate the feasibility of <br />locating the Northeast Minneapolis station site at 7th Street <br />Northeast. The Metropolitan Council requested the same <br />evaluation based on the sites better connections with buses, and a <br />link to a future commuter rail line to St. Paul and Hastings. <br /> <br />Following this action, the City of Minneapolis held several <br />community meetings and over the course of time introduced a <br />conceptual site plan. This plan was then revised according to <br />public comment and technical review. In December 2000, the city <br />council issued a resolution which approved the proposed 7th Street <br />Northeast station location, pending the findings of a supplemental <br />environmental document and subject to the provision of a 30-day <br />review and public comment period. The Supplemental <br />Environmental Information document to the Northstar Corridor <br />DEIS was issued on February 6, 2001. See Section IV for more <br />information on the DEIS. <br /> <br />E. Responses to City Resolutions from the NCDA and the <br /> Commissioner of Transportation <br />Although not required to by state law, the NCDA and Mn/DOT <br />issued a joint response to each city's resolution. Responses can <br />be found in Appendix E.2. <br /> <br />F. Review of the Advanced Corridor Plan by the Saint <br /> Cloud APO and the Metropolitan Council <br />According to Minn. Statutes §174.86, the NCDA and Mn/DOT must <br />submit the Advanced Corridor Plan to the Saint Cloud APO and the <br />Metropolitan Council for review and to ensure consistency with their <br />regional development guides. The Advanced Corridor Plan was <br />submitted to Saint Cloud APO and the Metropolitan Council on <br />December 14, 2000. The Saint Cloud APO held a public hearing <br />on January 2, 2001, and approved the Advanced Corridor Plan on <br /> <br />Northstar Corridor Development Authority 19 <br /> <br /> <br />
