Recommended rates do not <br />include the 1997 COLA. <br /> <br />Pay Resolution <br /> <br />Attached is a copy of the pay resolution and the related exhibits. Exhibit 1 <br />has no changes of substance, but there are a few changes to either update or <br />remove items which are no longer relevant. <br /> <br />Exhibit 2 is the proposed pay plan. The pay plan attached to this memo <br />includes a three percent cost of living increase. The remainder of the pay <br />plan remains unchanged from the previous year. As always, the Council has <br />the discretion to determine what cost of living increase it feels is appropriate. <br /> <br />There are also two other pay adjustments which the Council is asked to <br />review at this time. The first is for Joni Pearson who was originally hired as <br />a part time office service worker. Earlier this year Joni's position was <br />changed to a full time position. Since that time her work load has changed <br />from that of an office service worker which includes more functions as back <br />up receptionist and copier, to those of a secretary. Joni now does <br />considerably more typing for the administration, finance and economic <br />development departments. In addition, Joni handles some of the office <br />supply ordering and often assembles Council and other agenda packets. The <br />Council is asked to consider elevating Joni to a secretary position. <br /> <br />The other pay adjustment requested is more of a correction than an <br />adjustment.
