Employees that wish <br />to he considered for the position are encouraged to contact the appropriate decision- <br />maker{s) indicated on the posting. The twit-}Utilities may also advertise the vacancy to <br />attract external candidates. <br />The iii-1•it3~Utilities retains all its managerial rights and w~~e}el-yhas the sole di cretion <br />to decide ~kewhich candidate is best qualified to fill t-hea vacant position °~ <br />., whether or not the candidate is a <br />current Utilities emnlovee <br />J$~ PERFORMANCE REVIEWS <br />An employee's immediate supervisor or department head normally will conduct a <br />performance review on an annual basis. Employee performance, however, may be <br />coached or reviewed formally or informally at any time. <br />Performance reviews are an opportunity for employees, management, and the <br />Iii-1-it3~Lltilities to assess an individual's job performance and to assure the continuing <br />improvement of every employee's performance. The performance review system is <br />designed to: <br />• Ensure that quality services are provided to the public at the least <br />possible cost; <br />• Motivate and develop employees to their fullest potential; <br />• Clarify roles and mutual expectations of supervisors and employees; <br />• Promote open and ongoing communication between employees at all <br />levels, including feedback from subordinates to supervisors; and <br />• Assist in determination of whether employees are meeting the <br />°°"+°'~perfonnance standards for their position. <br />The performance review will usually be documented in writing as well as delivered orally <br />to the employee in person. Completed performance review forms should be signed by <br />the employee and the supervisor or ~eet~t~c-Q«other Utilities niana~~er or <br />representative delivering the review to the employee.
