• Internet e-mail and World Wide Web access usage is not confidential. The Utility
receives detailed monthly reports on Internet e-mail usage by individual and the
Utility's software tracks each World Wide Web site you visit.
BANDWIDTH CONSERVATION
The Utility uses the Internet for a number of key Utility functions. To ensure sufficient
bandwidth to perform these functions, the Utility has implemented a variety of
bandwidth conservation measures. These measures include blocking websites that
have no instructional or administrative value. Employees shall not use Internet radio
stations for casual listening and/or background music. Employees shall not download
music files.
Employees who violate any of the guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action
including, but not limited to, written warnings, revocation of access privileges and
employee termination.
13. SUPPLEMENTAL EMPLOYMENT
If an employee is planning to take an outside job, notification should be given to his/her
supervisor. If the employee is unable to maintain high performance standards with the
Utility as a result of employment at a second outside job, the permission to work at the
supplemental job may be rescinded, or the employee may be subject to dismissal.
14. REPORT OF PERSONNEL CHANGES
The Utility attempts to maintain complete and accurate personnel information on its
employees. It is the responsibility of each employee to notify the office of the Utility
when changes occur, including:
• Name (through marriage or otherwise);
• Address;
• Beneficiaries for life insurance and retirement;
• Telephone number;
• Person to contact in case of emergency; or
• Other changes which may affect benefits coverage.
15. ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is an essential function of every job with the Utility. Every Utility
employee has an important role to play in maintaining a productive workplace.
Therefore, it is essential that all employees report to work as scheduled every day.
Unsatisfactory attendance, including reporting late to work and leaving work early may
result in disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
If an employee must be absent from work for any reason, other than approved time off,
the employee must notify his/her immediate supervisor at least thirty (30) minutes prior
15
