Beck will join SAIC's Infrastructure, Logistics and Product Solutions <br />Group, which provides technical and engineering services for a variety of <br />clients and mission areas, including all hazards preparedness and logistics; <br />energy management services; and environmental support. R.W. Beck's core <br />consulting and engineering organization will join the group's Energy, <br />Environment, and Infrastructure business unit. <br />Beck Disaster Recovery, Inc., of which R.W. Beck Group Inc. is the majority <br />owner, will join the SAIC group's Homeland Protection and Preparedness <br />business unit. <br />The acquisition is expected to close in early August. <br />Efficiency efforts in Burlington yield 'compellin;' results <br />otiTer t~~~o decades <br />Annual electricity consumption in Burlington, Vt., last year was only 1% higher <br />than it was 19 years ago, Mayor Robert Kiss told a Senate hearing. <br />The results of the Burlington, Vt., Electric Department's energy efficiency <br />programs over the last 19 years "are compelling," Burlington Mayor Robert <br />Kiss told a Senate hearing July 21. Annual electricity consumption in 2008 <br />was about 1% greater than in 1989, he told the Senate Environment and Public <br />Works Subcommittee on Green Jobs and the New Economy.
