The closest thing might be the signage for <br />greenhouses. <br />Staff maintains that these types of signs are inconsistent with the goals of our rural neighborhoods, home <br />occupations and our signage goals. <br />If it is the City Councils desire to maintain the Rural Based Business Off Premise signs, staff would <br />recommend the following language: <br />Rural Based Businesses shall be allowed up to four (4) o~premises directional signs subject to the following <br />restrictionr• <br />a. Individual directional signs shall not exceed six (6) square feet. <br />b. Such signs shall be located onprivateproperty which is adjacent to an arterial road, provided that the <br />property owner's permission is obtained in writing. <br />c. Such signs shall only contain the name of the Rural Based Businesses and the direction and distance to the <br />facility. <br />d. Except as otherwise provided, all freestanding signs in residential hones shall have a maximum height of eight <br />(8) feet. <br />e. Signing for straight-ahead movements shall not be allowed. <br />Commercial Construction and Real Estate Signs <br />In the fall of 2008, a resident questioned the amount and size of commercial real estate signs within the <br />city.
