Wendy and Donna are continuing to work on glossy downtown brochures to be <br />distributed at local hotels/motels. <br />Tony talked to the Swan Lady at Three Rivers Park. She said that swan waste on the <br />shoreline is an issue. If you feed the swans would need to do it on the island. Also, the <br />swans tend to be reclusive when their feathers fall off and wouldn't be readily visible <br />during the summer. We are not going to proceed with trying to attract swans downtown. <br />New Business: <br />Classic Car Show is being planned for Downtown Elk River Thursday, July 30tH <br />Businesses are encouraged to have a sidewalk sale that day. <br />Halloween 2009 is on a Saturday. How will this effect our event planning? We need to <br />put together a committee to plan. <br />Fast Cash has opened in downtown Elk River. It is a second hand consignment shop -not <br />a pawn shop. <br />The Current would publish information about activities in Downtown Elk River like the <br />Car show. The Article would need to be turned in by May 19th to go in the publication <br />that would be mailed July 19th <br />
