Soil borings will be taken,
frequently enough to represent the existing condition through out the project. The
purpose of this investigation will be to determine the existing pavement thickness and
depth of aggregate base in place.
Vehicular Traffic
No traffic counts have been taken in this area. The neighborhood is bounded by the
Mississippi and Elk River to the south and thus no thru traffic is possible. The traffic
volumes on these streets is assumed to be relatively low and limited to local traffic.
Sanitary Sewer
Eight-inch sanitary sewer is located on most of the streets in the area. An old 12 inch
sanitary sewer line cuts through the area and parallels the river, The sanitary sewer
lines will be cleaned and televised prior to final design to determine if any repairs are
needed. The existing sanitary sewer is shown on Exhibit 2.
2
