Park & Recreation Commission Minutes Page 3 <br />April 11, 2007 <br />• Ms. Love share that the Annual Lions' Pancake dinner held at the senior center <br />raised $201 for C.A.E.R. and 378 pounds of food. <br />Ms. Love stated that there would be a tour in April and a creative writing workshop <br />along with many other program offerings. <br />7. Director's Report -Bill Maertz <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared information regarding the <br />Metro Greenways grant application for restoration work at Woodland Trails Park. <br />Mr. Maertz shared key information regarding Anoka County's Mississippi River <br />Regional Trail Northern Alignment Master Plan. If approved and constructed, this <br />trail will lead from Anoka all the way to the Elk River city limits near the Kelley <br />Farm. The Sherburne County Trial Master Plan includes a trail that would connect <br />to the regional trail.. The proposed Babcock Park to Downtown Elk River trail <br />would be an important link in this trail system. <br />8.1. Community Events -The Amazing Family and Friends Race <br />Parks and Recreation Intern, Mark Ahlness shared information about the upcoming <br />Amazing Family and Friends Race on Apri121 S`. The event will be from gam to fpm <br />• with awards and lunch being served at the end of the event. There will be 10 <br />coordinates for teams to locate through out the city of Elk River. <br />8.2.A Land Use Cases - Rohlf's Second Addition Preliminary/Final Plat <br />Planner/Park Planner, Chris Leeseberg presented information regarding a request to <br />subdivide a single 1.78-acre lot into three lots, allowing 2 additional single family on <br />the property. <br />Mr. Leeseberg, stated that staff recommends that park dedication be paid in the form <br />of cash for 21ots and a 10-foot trail easement along the entire length of Meadowvale <br />Road, as it adjoins the subject plat. <br />Commissioner Paige asked if the 10-foot easement would be adequeate. <br />Mr. Leeseberg stated that it would be additiona110-feet to the counties right of way. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER PAIGE AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER NYSTROM TO RECOMMEND ACCEPTING PARK <br />DEDICATION IN THE FORM OF CASH FOR TWO LOTS AT THE <br />RATE APPLICABLE AT THE TIME OF FINAL PLAT APPROVAL, AND <br />THAT A 10-FOOT TRAIL EASEMENT ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH <br />OF MEADOWVALE ROAD, AS IT ADJOINS THE SUBJECT PLAT, <br />• SHALL BE RECORDED. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
