Parks & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />February 13, 2008 <br />Page 2 <br />5. Open Mike -None • <br />G. Recreation Manager's Report -Tonya Love <br />Recreation Administrative Coordinator, Tonya Love stated that staff is continuously <br />recruiting adult fitness and recreational program leaders. <br />Ms. Love shared January recreation programs and facility use. <br />Ms. Love stated that the Spring 2008 Program Guide had been mailed out and <br />registration was under way. <br />Ms. Love shared that there have been 27 keys sold for the baby grand piano <br />fundraiser at the Activity Center,. the fitness area now has a treadmill and the average <br />daily attendance is 42. <br />7. Director's Report -Bill Maertz <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz introduced the new Recreation <br />Manager Steve Benoit and Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Albin. <br />8.1.A. Action/Discussion Items -Community Events <br />Recreation Administrative Coordinator, Tonya Love shared that the Golden Gonza • <br />Egg Hunt,. formerly known as the Flashlight Egg Hunt will take place on March 15 <br />from 6:30-9pm. <br />8.1.B. Major Park Use - Meadowvale Elementary <br />Recreation Administrative Coordinator, Tonya Love shared that Meadowvale <br />Elementary is requesting the use of Woodland Trails Park for a second year in a row <br />for their PTO fundraiser on Saturday, October 4. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PAIGE TO APPROVE THE USE OF WOODLAND <br />TRAILS PARK ON OCTOBER 4 AT NO CHARGE. THE USE OF A <br />SMALL PICK UP TRUCK ON THE TRAIL WILL BE PERMITTED <br />ALONG WITH THE USE OF CHALK INSTEAD OF PAINT TO MARK <br />THE TRAILS. MOTION CARRIED 6-0 <br />8.1.C. Major Park Use -Hillside City Park <br />Recreation Coordinator, Stephanie Albin shared that a group of about 20 racers were <br />requesting to camp in Hillside Park the night before Pug Fest '08 on February 17, <br />2008. City staff will be present at the event, which is part of a series of winter off • <br />road biking races. <br />
