Trident Development for Preliminary Plat Approval <br />Planner/Park Planner, Chris Leeseberg stated that the Trident Development (I'he <br />Depot at Elk River Station) applicant was now platting the property to construct a <br />60-unit apartment complex and requested that the trail along Twin Lakes Road be <br />credited towards their park dedication cost. <br />Staff recommends that the Parks. and Recreation Commission recommend that park <br />dedication be paid in the form of cash for 60-units, a the rate applicable at the time <br />of Final Plat approval and also recommend that the trail along the Twin Lakes Road <br />not be credited towards park dedication. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER ANDERSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER CARSON TO RECOMMEND STAFF <br />RECOMMENDATION THAT PARK DEDICATION BE PAID IN THE <br />FORM OF CASH FOR 60-UNITS, AT THE RATE APPLICABLE AT THE <br />TIME OF FINAL PLAT APPROVAL AND ALSO RECOMMEND THAT <br />THE TRAIL ALONG THE TWIM LAKES ROAD NOT BE CREDITED <br />TOWARDS PARK DEDICATION. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />8.2.A PohTues -Major Park Use-Orono Park Family Camp Out Program <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit shared that staff would like to implement a Family <br />• Overnight Campout program on August 15 and 16, 2008. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER BOESE AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER SCHULDT TO RECOMMEND STAFF IMPLEMENT <br />THE LAKE ORONO FAMILY CAMP PROGRAM. MOTION CARRIED <br />6-0. <br />8.2.B. Major Park Use- Orono Park-Car Show Fundraiser <br />Recreation Manager, Steve Benoit. shared that Keller Williams Reality is requesting <br />the use of Orono Park to host a customer appreciation and antique car show event. <br />The event is scheduled for August 13, 2008 from 3-10pm. <br />Mr. Benoit stated that this event is a fundraiser with proceeds going to both the local <br />community and KW Cares which is a non-profit organization used to assist local <br />agents with personnel or health issues. <br />Mr. Benoit stated that staff recommends no fees or deposits are charged and that the <br />group will be responsible for any expenses incurred such as extra portable toilets or <br />trash clean up as required. <br />Commissioner Larson asked how this event would be a fundraiser if there was no <br />charge to attend. <br />• <br />
