At this point, staff recognizes that Cargill has raised concerns regarding the <br />rezoning of their 60 acres lying south of 165th that may merit further <br />discussion with Cargill to better understand their current and long term <br />needs. One option the City Council could may this evening is to defer action <br />on the rezoning of the 60 acres for one month to allow staff the opportunity to <br />meet with Cargill and discuss in more detail issues related to this proposed <br />rezoning. However, it is staffs full intention to continue to implement the <br />Comprehensive Plan as adopted including initiating appropriate rezonings <br />unless the plan is amended by the City Council. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff would recommend the City Council defer action on this item for one <br />month to allow staff the opportunity to meet with Cargill and further discuss <br />the issues relating to the rezoning and present those to the City Council next <br />month. <br /> <br />s:Xcouncil\zc96-10c.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
