He further indicated that <br />the Rendezvous will be advertised in several different papers. Mr. Beta offered the <br />opportunity to advertise the Heritage Festival at the Nicollet Mall Festival of Festivals. <br /> <br />Deb Coverston presented the group with a sample medallion that could be made for the <br />Festival. Discussion was held regarding the emblem and cost of the medallion. <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED AND SECONDED TO DESIGN A MEDALLION WITH THE ELK <br />DESIGN OF A NEUTRAL COLOR AND TO ORDER 1,500 OF THE MEDALLIONS <br />TO BE SOLD AT $2.00 EACH. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> <br />It was indicated that fnce rings and sand would be needed at Handke Pit for the Rendezvous. <br />It was also indicated that the driveway would have to be leveled out. Discussion was held <br />regarding the need for more than 2 satellites at the Rendezvous area. It was also indicated <br />that water would be needed in this area. <br /> <br />Lynn Caswell - Funding Committee - Lynn Caswell reported that there is currently <br />$1,170.05 in the Heritage Committee account. He indicated that fundraising plans are <br />currently being worked on. He stated that the committee is in need of a treasurer. The <br />committee also needs a fixed budget with requests for specific dollar amount. Lorraine <br />Thompson will be donating a quilt for a quilt raffle. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the need for a marketing plan. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Don Heinzman indicated that Lab Video Productions has asked whether the committee is <br />interested in having the festival video taped. The cost would be $800. Following discussion, <br />it was decided that this would not be a profitable venture, <br /> <br />A MOTION WAS MADE AND SECONDED NOT TO USE LAB VIDEO <br />PRODUCTIONS TO VIDEO TAPE THE FESTIVAL. MOTION CARRIED <br />UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> <br />Ron Wilkes gave an update regarding the Past Images event. He indicated that Randy <br />DeRosier is working on this program. It was decided that this event will be held at Orono <br />Park. The event will give a historical overview of what Elk River looked like in the past <br />compared to how it looks today. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding speakers for the general program.
