Box 490 <br />Elk River, MN 55330 <br />RE: WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT BUILDING REPAINTING <br />Dear Mr. Klaers: <br />We have been working with the wastewater treatment facility operator to improve the <br />CIVIL ENGINEERING exterior coatings on the buildings at the treatment facility. The coatings were applied to <br />ENVIRONMENTAL three buildings during the 1978 plant expansion and, over the years, the coatings have <br />MuwaPU deteriorated to a point that is threatening the integrity of the masonry structures. In order <br />PLANNING to protect the structures from further deterioration, it is necessary to clean and recoat <br />ID WASTE <br />~ surfaces in the near future. <br />uauRAl <br />suRVErING We sent out "request for quotations" to six painting contractors, and have received three <br />TRAFFIC quotes as of the deadline, May 31, 1995. We have had some previous experience with this <br />contractor on a water tower refurbishing project. The work they performed was <br />satisfactory. Based on our experience and the quotes received, we recommend the City <br />awazd the project to Rainbow, Inc., at the next Council meeting.
