L'dw a ~wuce <br />Friday; March I5, 1996 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Location: Elk River City Hall <br />Facilitators: Brian Vita <br />e his session will include a brief presentation by <br />representatives of the local criminal justice system <br />including Elk River Polic Dept., Sherbume County <br />Sheriffs Dept., Sherburne County Attorney's Office, <br />Sherburne County Public Defenders, 10th District <br />Court Judge and Sherbtune County Corrections. <br />The presentations will be followed by a question and <br />answer session. (Tour of police dept) and group will <br />then move to the Sherburte County Government Center <br />for a tour of the counhouse, sberiff s facilities and jail. <br />A select number of participants will have lunch in the <br />jail. Others will have jail meals served in a jury room. <br />The session will also include attendance at court <br />proceedings and a review of civil law, followed by a <br />question and answer period. <br />Education <br />Friday; April 19, 1996 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Location: Elk River Ciry Hall <br />Facilitators: Rita Johnson & Chazlie Blesener <br />This session will include a presentation on the role of <br />education in the community relating to economic <br />developmem, cultural emichment/differenccs and <br />responsible citizenship. In addition, a discussion of <br />current trends and/or happenings in education will be <br />presented by representatives from District 728 schools, <br />Anoka Hennepin Technical College and Anoka Ramsey <br />Community College. <br />llealUUlYWtlall JerVlceS a VU1IIllteerlSm <br />Friday, May 17, 1996 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Location: Elk River City Hall <br />Facilitators: Cazol Mills & Ken Ebel <br />Participants will be introduced to the variety of health <br />care and social services available within the Elk River <br />community. Speakers will address current health care <br />trends, azea health services, and economic issues which <br />influence these programs. A tour will provide an <br />on-site perspective of a local health caze facility. In the <br />afternoon, local volunteers will share personal <br />experiences, followed by a presentation by <br />representatives of local organizations concerning <br />volunteer needs and participant involvement. <br />Graduation <br />Thursday, May 23, 1996 6:30 p.m. <br />Riverwood Conference Center <br />Facilitator: Linda Frederickson <br />Join program participants, spouses, friends and <br />program facilitators to celebrate Leadership <br />Perspectives.
