Bidder <br />Triple Combination Pumper Specifications for thc 34 Complies <br /> <br />City of Elk River Minnesota Yes No <br />A tow bar shall be installed under the tailboard at center of truck. <br />Tow bar shall be fabricated of 1.00" CRS bar rolled into a 3.00" radius. <br />Tow bar assembly shall be constructed of .38" structural angle. When force is applied to the <br />bar, it shall be transmitted to the frame rail. <br />Tow bar assembly shall be designed and positioned to allow up to a 30 degree upward angled <br />pull of 17,000 pounds, or a 20,000 pound straight horizontal pull in line with the centerline of <br />the vehicle. <br />Tow bar design shall have been fully tested and evaluated using strain gauge testing and finite <br />element analysis techniques. <br />COMPARTMENTATION <br />Body and compartments shall be fabricated of .125", 5052-H32 aluminum with a tensile <br />strength range of 31,000 to 38,000 psi. <br />Side compartments shall be an integral assembly with the rear fenders. <br />Circular fender liners shall be provided for prevention of rust pockets and ease of maintenance. <br />Compartment flooring shall be of the sweep out design with the floor higher than the <br />compartment door lip. <br />The compartment door opening shall be framed by flanging the edges in 1.75" and bending out <br />again .75" to form an angle. <br />Drip protection shall be provided above the doors by means of bright aluminum extrusion, <br />formed bright aluminum treadplate or polished stainless steel. <br />The top of the compartment shall be covered with bright aluminum treadplate rolled over the <br />edges on the front, rear and outward side. These covers shall have the comers "TIG" welded. <br />Side compartment covers shall be separate from the compartment tops. <br />Front facing compartment walls shall be covered with bright aluminum treadplate. <br />All screws and bolts which, protrude into a compartment shall have acorn nuts on the ends to <br />prevent injury. <br />UNDERBODY SUPPORT SYSTEM <br />Due to the severe loading requirements of this pumper a method of body and compartment <br />support suitable for the intended load shall be provided. <br />Page 34 <br /> <br /> <br />
