Mr. Lundberg indicated that he has received several grants to help fund the
project which will cost approximately $30,000. He requested the Council to consider
contributing $5,000 toward the project.

Councilmember Motin indicated his concern that the long-term plan for the
downtown area is not complete and that this request may be premature.
Councilmember Kuester indicated that she would support the request as the
improved wall and mural would likely complement any downtown plan.
Councilmember Dietz stated that the contributions to the project would be
increasing the value of the building more than the $2,000 the property owner is
willing to contribute. Councilmember Tveite suggested that the City Council match
the amount of funding provided by the downtown businesses.

COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE
COUNCIL TO MATCH THE AMOUNT OF FUNDING PROVIDED BY
THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS OWNERS FOR THE MURAL PROJECT
UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $5,000 WITH THE FUNDING TO COME
FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND. Mayor K2inzing requested the City Engineer
and Street Superintendent to review the situation.
