<br />. EPARTMENT <br /> <br />GALS FOR 2001 <br /> <br />Planning and Planning Commission <br /> <br />The Department has identified the following goals for 2001: <br /> <br />1. Complete recodification of the Zoning Code including a reorganization of the <br />format of the district requirements. <br />2. Develop tree preservation standards. <br />3. Develop a townhome standards ordinance. <br />4. Complete Recodification of the Zoning Code. . <br />5. Evaluate and implement data storage and preservation methods (optical imaging). <br />6. Implement geographic information systems through the use of Arc View and <br />related computer software programs. <br />7. Continue to maintain and improve communications with Building/Zoning, <br />Economic Development, and Engineering departments. <br />8. Continue to improve education by Commissioners and Staff regarding trends and <br />improvements in planning. <br />9. Implement 2000 approvals: SoftPac, Minnesota Wash-n-Fill, residential plats. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />The Commission has identified the following goals for 2001: <br /> <br />1. Develop park identification signage. <br /> <br />· Logo <br />. Address <br /> <br />. New park names <br /> <br />2. Create marketing program for parks. <br /> <br />. Logo <br /> <br />. Brochure <br /> <br />· Tag line <br /> <br />3. Create separate Park and Recreation Department <br />· Define Commission's new role <br /> <br />4. Acquire or negotiate for acquisition one property identified as region park. <br /> <br />5. Develop long-term master plans for ERYAC, Orono, Woodland Trails for budgeting <br />and phasing purposes. <br /> <br />6. Develop resource management strategies. <br />
