<br />Accomplishments in 2000 <br /> <br />. Brand/Communication Plan - The brand/ communication plan began in 2000 with <br />the hiring of Anita Dukor and Associates. The process included the redesign of the <br />city logo. It is anticipated that the new logo will be implemented in early 2001. <br /> <br />. Cable TV - Hired Kristin Thomas, as the full time Cable Government Access <br />Producer, expanded programming, and updated cameras and equipment. <br /> <br />. Census - City staff worked directly with the United States Department of Commerce <br />assisting in the 2000 census to ensure that the results of the 2000 census are as <br />accurate as possible. <br /> <br />. City Code Recodification - The process to recodify the city code began in 2000 and <br />it is anticipated that the project will culminate in 2001. <br /> <br />. Elections - 2000 was a presidential-election year. Elk River had a 75% voter turnout. <br />Approximately 1,500 people registered to vote on Election Day. <br /> <br />. Pedestrian Bridge Dedication - A ceremony was held to dedicate the pedestrian <br />bridge over Highway 169. Congressman Oberstar was the featured speaker during the <br />ceremony. Refreshments were served following the dedication ceremony. <br /> <br />. Secretary Receptionist Position - Hired Robin Hartfiel 2/00 to fill Tina Allard's <br />position. Tina transferred to the Secretary Position in the Administration Department <br />left vacant by Joni Pearson. In September of 2000 Robin Harfiel transferred from the <br />Secretary Receptionist position to the Building Department. At that time Katie Kill <br />and Julie Kragness were hired to job share the position of Secretary /Receptionist. <br />
