If you are interested in obtaining a parking <br />permit for King Avenue, it is imperative that you complete and submit the enclosed Permit <br />Application by the deadline of Friday June 15~ X007. <br />Summary of New Parking Regulations <br />The City's primary objectives with regard to downtown parking are two-fold: <br />• Ensure the prime parking spots remain available to customers. <br />• Ensure safe, available parking spots for downtown employees, residents and guests. <br />The Downtown Parking Focus Group included representatives from the affected blocks and met <br />over a series of months to discuss short-term parking needs and a plan to identify the needs and <br />options to address long-term parking. <br />On April 9, 2007 the City Council authorized the implementation of the following parking <br />modifications, effective July 1, 2007: <br />1) Reduced titne limits of customer parking areas to promote greater turnover and availability - <br />- I{ing Avenue Parking Lot: 3-hour <br />- Cln-street parking: 2-hour <br />- North 1~iain Street between. Jackson Avenue and The Bank of Elk River: 1-hour <br />- Jackson rwenue between I{emper Drug & Diamond City Bread: 1-hour <br />?) Downtown parking regulations will be enforced by the City Police Department (as signed) <br />Monday through. Friday 7:00 a.m. - G:00 p.m. Overnight parking regulations (no parking <br />2a3.:.-lam) on-street. and within Icing Avenue parking lot will be enforced 7-days a u-eek. <br />3} Payment of past due parking tickets ~vili be strictly enforced. The Police Department will <br />in::tall a "parking boot" on vehicles with :a or more unpaid parking tickets.
