Maurer stated NIx. and Ms. Burandt submitted a letter re est g $10,000 for the <br />temporary easement on their property. <br />Barb r , 19118 Tyler Street — Stated the proposed payment of $1 for use of a <br />tenporay easement located on weir property was unexpected and unacceptable. <br />Dave Burandt, 19118 Tyler Street — Stated he is aware their fence is on city property. <br />1\/Ir. Maurer stated the city would have property it won't need after the 193rd project is <br />completed. He suggested the city could deed a seer of land appro.�ately J-4 Feet beyond <br />the luradt: fence in exchange for signing the temporary easement. <br />Councilinember Moth quesdoned if the land be vee,n the road and the Burandt property <br />could he deeded to the Burandts. <br />Mx, Maurer stated here is a portion of land that is sloped and would need to be protected. <br />The Council noted the folio% ing comments regarding the Burandt property: <br />The city has gone out of its way to accommodate the protection of the Burandt <br />property. <br />The city compromised the .intersection from bung at a 90 degree angle in order to <br />e impact to the Burandt property. <br />Staff has provided very reasonable solutions to rninni=i e impact to the property. <br />The Council is not in favor of payment for the ternpc racy easement but would <br />compromise with a land swap. <br />' More consideradon has been given to the Burandt property than to anyone else. <br />More land was taken from another property owner i order tom' it e impact to the <br />urandt property. <br />A land swap would be valued more than the rent value of the land; plus the urandt's <br />would get their property with the temporary easement back after three years. <br />Mr. Burandt suggested having the property condemned and assessed. He further suggested <br />that they would be happy to have an appraisal done for the value of the city to rent the <br />property for three yews and they would accept the payment detern-fined by the appraiser. <br />ounci.lm.ernber Gur phrey suggested the ur ndt's pay for their appraisal. <br />Co ncilrnember Motin suggested the city pay for an appraisal and if the : urandt's wart a <br />second appraisal, then they would have to pay for it. He sugg sted giving them a week to <br />thm'k about whether they want to do the land swap or to get the appraisal on renting out the <br />land. <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER Mo IN AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER TO CONTINUE THIS ITEM FOR ONE WEEK <br />IN ORDER TO GIVE THEU ANDT TIME TO THINK ABOUT THE <br />OPTIONS OFFERED BY COUNCIL AT THIS MEETING.
