City Council Meeting Page 4 <br />January 22, 1996 <br /> <br /> COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED THAT DAVE DUMMER BE ASSIGNED TO THE K-9 <br /> POSITION AND THAT A NEW K-9 DOG BE ACQUIRED AND TRAINED, AND FURTHER <br /> THAT RaN NIERENHAUSEN BE ALLOWED TO KEEP BARON, THE PREVIOUS K-9 DOG. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />Jeff Wiita indicated that he is initiating a petition to allow voters to decide <br />whether or not they want to elect School Board members by District. He <br />requested the City Council and Mayor to consider signing the petition which <br />states that they would like the voters to have a chance to vote on this issue. <br /> <br />No one else appeared for Open Mike. <br /> <br />8. Other Business <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman indicated that the City receive a thank you note from the <br />Sherburne County Historical Society for the City's support through 1996 patron <br />membership. <br /> <br />9. Staff Updates <br /> <br />The City Administrator distributed a handout from the County Administrator which <br />invites representatives of City Councils to a special Sherburne County Board <br />meeting on February 29 at 7 p.m. to discuss issues of common concern. <br /> <br />The City Administrator reminded the Council that a special joint meeting with the <br />Council and School Board has been called for Monday, January 29 at 7 p.m., at <br />the City Hall. <br /> <br />10. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO ADJOURN <br />THE MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION.
