City Council Minutes Page 6 <br />March 12, 2001 <br /> <br />Dave Crocker, 19422 Auburn Street- Gave a history of issues regarding Hillside <br />development. Mr. Crocker didn't feel that his concerns were being heard. He <br />stated concerns about traffic speed and visibility. <br /> <br />Sally Pesta, 19506 Auburn Street - Stated that when she was shown a plat <br />drawing of the development by her realtor it showed that she was on a corner lot <br />and now the new plat shows that her property will back up to a park. She stated <br />that she wouldn't have built in this location if she k`new it would be on a park, and <br />now she has to worry about the liability of children on her property. Ms. Pesta <br />stated that this would not be a flat area park, that would be safe for children as <br />there is a steep slope in which there have been numerous accidents. <br /> <br />Gary Weaver, 19438 Auburn Street - Stated that he would like to hear comments <br />from the police and fire department. Mr. Weaver felt that residents living north of <br />him were given preferential treatment in regard to police and fire issues. <br /> <br />Tim Franke, 19407 Dodge Street- Questioned whether Dodge Street would be <br />completed right away or if it would be phased in with the development phases. <br />Mr. Harlick,er stated that typically the road would be phased in. Mr. Frank,e also <br />questioned the safety of a park underneath power lines. <br /> <br />Robin Fitzgerald, 19374 Dodge Street - Stated that if Dodge Street were to go <br />through it should be wider to handle traffic in a safe manner. <br /> <br />Doug Franz, 19406 Dodge Street - Felt that the current proposed plat does not <br />meet the R 1 e zoning ordinance requirements. He stated that the 50' no-cut zone <br />behind Menards has not been followed. <br /> <br />Michael Mass, 19374 Baldwin Circle - Stated that the stop signs in the <br />development are not working. He felt that Auburn and Dodge Street should have <br />a cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Tina Simmons, 19505 Dodge Street - Stated that she was concerned about the <br />safety of children. <br /> <br />Scott Fitzgerald, 19374 Dodge Street - Stated that if Baldwin were to be a through <br />street then it would help alleviate traffic flow on Auburn and Dodge Street. He <br />stated that he would lik,e to see a condition added that stipulates that Dodge <br />Street be phased in as the development is phased in. <br /> <br />John Kuester, Park and Recreation Chairman - Gave a history regarding how the <br />park location was determined. Mr. Kuester stated that the Park and Recreation <br />Commission wanted a park in the area and a big concern of the Commission <br />was that it be centrally located for the whole Hillside Development. The <br />Commission would take either a flat area for park,land or an environmental park <br />with trees. He stated that the Commission didn't care for this proposed park, <br />location because of the aesthetics of the power lines located overhead but <br />accepted it because of the central location. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing closed the public hearing. The Council took a 5-minute recess. <br /> <br /> <br />
