City Council Minutes Page 3 <br />February 12, 2001 <br /> <br /> Mayor Klinzing raised some questions regarding the competitiveness of bidding <br /> this project out when the paver product has already been determined. Terry <br /> Maurer explained that the city will reserve the pavers for the project and it is <br /> expected that the city will receive several bids from contractors on the project. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.3. Consider Ventilation Proposal for WVVTP Di.qester and Grit Removal Buildin,qs <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer explained that staff is requesting improvements to the <br />ventilation system at the wastewater treatment plant in an amount estimated at <br />approximately $193,000. He explained that the request is a result of health and <br />safety issues that have been discovered by Chief Operator Gary Leirmoe and <br />Safety Coordinator Bruce West. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ENGINEER TO PROCEED <br />WITH THE BIDDING PROCESS TO UPGRADE AND BRING THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />PLANT VENTILATION SYSTEM INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THE HEALTH AND SAFETY <br />STANDARDS. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4.4.
