CLOUD, MI'/-- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is holding <br />a public open house on Wednesday, January 24, 2001, to share information and gather input <br />from attendees regarding a 24 mile Highway 10 Corridor Study underway in Sherburne County. <br /> <br /> The open house will take place at the Becker City Hall, 12060 Sherburne Avenue, <br />Becker, M1N' from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Those planning to attend may visit any time during this <br />time frame. <br /> <br /> This is the second public opportunity of its kind to be conducted for the study, and the <br />first to be held in Becker. An earlier meeting was held in Big Lake in August 2000. <br /> <br /> Boundaries for the Highway 10 Corridor Study extend from the Anoka/Sherburne County <br />line in Elk River west to the junction of Minnesota Highway 25 west of the city of Becket. <br /> <br /> A local collaborative task force is expected to convene in the weeks following the open <br />house to consider the comments received from this meeting and to work with Mn/DOT staff and <br />study committee members to develop a plan for safe access on and off Highway 10 in the city of <br />Becket. <br /> <br /> The open house will feature displays showing historical and projected traffic volumes, <br />current access locations, various crash data, projected growth along the corridor, and other <br />transportation related information. No formal presentation is planned, but Mn/DOT personnel <br />will be on hand to explain and discuss any aspect of the study. <br /> <br /> <br />
