The open house was requested to seek more localized input regarding the transportation issues facing the city of Becker. The open house will be in the same format as the one held in Big Lake in August 2000, recycling some of the same graphics and displays. You are all invited to attend. Attached is a news release providing additional details pertaining to the meeting. A local collaborative task force will be established following the open house to consider the public input received. Membership on the task force will be balanced to represent all transportation interests in the community. The task force will be responsible for developing a community vision for TH 10 and First Street, as well as a plan for safe, reasonable access along TH 10 through the community. Hopefully, the task force can wrap up its activities during the month of February. Within the next few weeks the district will be preparing GIS maps depicting the recommendations proposed by the sub-corridor committees. I will send these out to the appropriate jurisdictions for their review and comment. I plan to reconvene the committee sometime in March where the full membership will be afforded the opportunity to review and comment on the recommendations from sub-corridor committees in the context of developing an access management plan for the complete corridor.
