Mechanical Inspection <br />Housing and Light Commercial <br />February 5-9, ,2001, in Madison, Wisconsin <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />This one-week training course will <br />cover mechanical systems, installa- <br />tion and code requirements, and <br />inspection techniques and procedures. <br />Sessions will focus on developing the <br />inspector's understanding of present- <br />day construction technology and the <br />installation of mechanical systems in <br />accordance with local building codes. <br />Exposure to new technology and <br />existing mechanical systems will <br />provide the basis for in-depth me- <br />chanical inspection training. <br /> <br />Who Should Attend <br />This course is designed for inspectors <br /> ,~th mechanical inspection responsi- <br />bilities in existing housing, new <br />residential, and light commercial <br />structures. Multipurpose inspectors <br />will also benefit. Sessions are struc- <br />tured to fulfill the educational re- <br />quirements of many certification <br />programs. <br /> <br />Teaching Approach <br /> <br />Each topic area includes lecture and <br />workshop exercises. Selected notes, <br />references, and special workshop <br />exercises will be provided. <br /> <br />The 2000 International Mechanical <br />Code and 2000 International Fuel Gas <br />Code will be used as the basic code <br />documents for this course. Provisions <br />of other mechanical codes will be <br />discussed where pertinent. Bring your <br />2000 International Codes or your <br />community's code to mark up and use <br />for reference during the course. <br /> <br />Additional Benefits <br />from Attending <br /> <br />This course covers the topics evaluat- <br />ed in mechanical certification testing <br />programs common in most communi- <br />ties and expands on the basic mechan- <br />ical code requirements. Some past <br />attendees have received continuing <br />education credit toward certification <br />requirements.
