City Council Minutes Page 3 <br />January 8, 2001 <br /> <br /> RESIDENTIAL REFUSE SERVICE GO OUT FOR BIDS. STAFF DOES NOT FEEL THE <br /> PENDING PURCHASE WILL CREATE AN ANTI-TRUST SITUATION. <br /> <br />THE COUNCIL'S APPROVAL OF THE TRANSFER SHOULD BE CONTINGENT ON <br />THE EXECUTION OF A DOCUMENT STATING THAT RANDY'S EXPRESSLY <br />ASSUMES CORROW'S OBLIGATIONS TO THE CITY UNDER THEIR CONTRACT. <br />RANDY'S IS PREPARING THIS DOCUMENT AND WILL BE REVIEWED BY THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY. <br /> <br />THE CITY ATTORNEY WILL ALSO BE REVIEWING THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN RANDY'S AND CORROW. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing requested a formal letter from the city attorney describing his <br />review of the contract. <br /> <br />5,5. <br /> <br />Resi.qnation of Executive Secretary Alice Heinecke and Request for Authorization <br />to Advertise for Position <br /> <br />City Clerk Sandra Peine indicated that Alice Heinecke has submitted her letter of <br />resignation from the position of executive secretary. The city clerk stated that <br />Alice was a very valuable and dedicated employee who will be missed by many <br />staff members. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER KUESTER MOVED TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF ALICE <br />HEINECKE FROM THE POSITION OF EXECUTIVE SECRETARY. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that Alice has always been a helpful, efficient, <br />and friendly employee. <br /> <br />The city clerk requested the council to promote Tina Allard from administrative <br />secretary to executive secretary. She also requested authorization to advertise for <br />the position of secretary. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO PROMOTE TINA ALLARD TO THE POSITION OF <br />EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 22, 2001, PAY GRADE 10, STEP B, $15.24 <br />PER HOUR MOVING TO STEP C IN JULY OF 2002. COUNCILMEMBER TVEITE <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR <br />POSITION OF SECRETARY FOR THE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT. <br />COUNClLMEMBER KUESTER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.6. Request Authorization to Advertise for Part Time Cable Production Assistant <br /> <br />The city clerk requested authorization to hire a part time (20 hours per week) <br />assistant government cable producer. She indicated that this is a 2001 budgeted <br />item and requested to advertise the position at $10.00 per hour. <br /> <br /> <br />
